South Florida Aquatic Club’s girls team dominated the third session of the Comets’ Florida Gold Coast Open Invitational Saturday at Academic Village Pool in Pembroke Pines.
Kylie Herman, 14, won the 13-14 200-meter freestyle in 2:17.40, both a best and Junior Olympic cut time. Jessica Rodriguez, 13, was second in 2:19.18, also a best and JO cut time.
Herman also won the 800-meter freestyle in 10:08.43.
Rodriguez won the 13-14 200-meter breaststroke in 2:57.04, a JO cut time and won the 200-meter backstroke in 2:35.09, another JO time.
Melissa Marinheiro, 15, won the 15-and-over 200-meter freestyle in a best time of 2:07.64. Marinheiro also won the 50-meter butterfly in a best time 30.00 and 100-meter butterfly in best time of 1:07.00.
Amber Hunter, 16, coming off a six personal-best time performance at the FSU Spring Invite, was second in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:08.72.
Natasha Testa, 13, won the 13-14 50-meter butterfly in a best time and JO cut of 31.69.
SOFLO boys were led by Alex Monti, 14, who won the 13-14 50-meter breaststroke in 36.58, both a best time and JO cut. Diego Rodriguez, 14, was second in 37.58, a JO cut.
Jonathan Strod, 13, was second in the 50-meter butterfly in 30.88, a best time and JO cut.
