SOFLO’s Zain Qali, Abbas Qali, Hazem Tashkandi Win Gold At Gulf Aquatic Championships

SOFLO’s Zain Qali of Kuwait won a gold medal and broke a meet record at the Gulf Aquatic Long Course Championships at the Hamad Aquatic Complex in Kuwait.

Zain Qali won the 50-meter butterfly in a meet record 25.30.

Abbas Qali, also of Kuwait, won the 100-meter freestyle in 53.20 and was second in the 50-meter butterfly in 25.60.

Hazem Tashkandi of Saudi Arabia won the 400-meter freestyle in 4:16 and was fourth in the 800-meter freestyle in 8:59.

Three-time gold medalist and national record holder Loai Tashkandi, also of Saudi Arabia, was second in the 50-meter breaststroke in 31.60.

Abbas and Zain Qali are members of the Kuwait national team.

The swim meet features all six Gulf nations, KSA, UAE, Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar and host Kuwait.
