Tristan Celestin won three events to lead South Florida Aquatic Club on the second day of the Mike Horgan Memorial Invitational Saturday at Lake Lytal in West Palm Beach.
Celestin, 12, won the 11-12 50-yard breaststroke in 30.70, 200-yard breaststroke in 2:28.72 and 50-yard freestyle in 24.87.
SOFLO teammate Alfredo Mesa Jr., 12, was a double winner capturing the 11-12 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.11 and 100-yard individual medley in 1:04.14. Mesa was also third in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.35.
Other SOFLO individual winners included Jessica Rodriguez, 12, in the 12-and-under 200-yard breaststroke in 2:38.97 and Jessie Alcaide, 27, in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.47.
A contingent of forty SOFLO swimmers are entered in the three-day meet which has attracted teams from Miami to Jupiter.
The Florida Gold Coast meet is named in honor of one of the most beloved and well-respected coaches in the Florida Gold Coast. Horgan, Lake Lytal’s head developmental coach, died of a heart attack at age 50 in August.
