South Florida Aquatic Club’s Jordan Colon, CJ Kopecki and Rafael Rodriguez got off to a good start as members of the Florida Gold Coast All-Stars at the Southern Zone Age Group Championships in Greenville, S.C.

The trio of boys all turned in lifetime-best times against some of the zone’s top age group swimmers.

Kopecki finished tenth in the 1500-meter freestyle in 17:28.93, a time drop from 17:38.33. He was also 23rd in the 200-meter freestyle (2:05.75) and 29th in the 100-meter butterfly (1:03.93, close to his best of 1:03.20).

Colon was 13th in the 200-meter breaststroke in a best time of 2:32.39, dropping from 2:33.32.

Rafael Rodriguez went three-for-three in best times. He was ninth in the 400-meter freestyle in 4:34.28, dropping from 4:36.60; ninth in the 100-meter butterfly in 1:08.18, dropping from 1:08.40 and tenth in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:12.59, dropping from 2:13.28.

Jessica Rodriguez was ninth in the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:50.61.

The five-day meet ends on Saturday.
