SOFLO Swimmers Continue To Shine In High School Meets

South Florida Aquatic Club swimmers turned in some outstanding swims at last week’s Greater Miami Athletic Conference (GMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships in Dade County.

Maria Lopez of Hialeah Gardens won the 100-yard butterfly in 57.82 and was third in the 200-year freestyle in 1:59.43.

Hialeah Gardens teammate Jessica Rodriguez was third in the 200-yard individual medley and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:12.33.

Ryan Capote of American High won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.77 and was second in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.61.

Ervin Marin of Barbara Goleman High School was second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.57 and third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.99.

SOFLO’s Colon Wins At Westminster Meet

Jordan Colon of Mater Academy won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.87 in a recent meet against Pope John Paul II and host Westminster Academy.

Colon was also second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.21.

Mater won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:46.77 and 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:32.12 and was second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:48.06.
