With depth and talent, South Florida Aquatic Club dominated second day action at the 23rd annual Speedo Winter Championships Friday at Plantation Aquatic Complex.

With two days remaining in the Florida Gold Coast-sanctioned meet, SOFLO leads the combined, girls and boys team standings.

SOFLO, runner-up last year in the combined team standings, leads with 654 points, more than 200 points ahead of Metro Aquatics with 401.

SOFLO leads the girls’ team standings with 291 points, ahead of St. Andrew’s Swimming with 226 and leads the boys’ team points with 363 points ahead of first-year team Azura Florida Aquatics with 302.

“It was again an overall team effort, from our 9-year-olds stepping up and going best times to Alia Atkinson competing on the 400 medley relay,” SOFLO coach Chris Anderson said.

“Our 13-14 girls and boys have some serious depth, winning the medley boys and girls relays which was very nice to see and our open girls relay was second just behind St. Andrew’s with some unbelievable splits. It was nice to close off an aggressive session like that.

“Our program has solid depth. This total group tonight might have been my best session. We are performing and doing a great job.”

Among SOFLO’s top performances were:

The girls 13-14 400-yard medley relay of Kelley Heron, Jessica Rodriguez, Star Fassler and Stephanie Mlujeak won in 4:11.73.
