Melissa Marinheiro will complete her swimming hat trick this week at the USA Swimming Speedo Winter Junior Nationals in Greensboro, N.C.

The South Florida Aquatic Club swimmer, who has already competed in the state high school meet and last week’s Winter Senior Nationals in Knoxville, is among several Florida Gold Coast swimmers wrapping up their 2013 season this week.

The top 18-and-under swimmers in the nation will compete for junior national titles and national age group records.

The meet gets under way on Thursday and ends Saturday, following the traditional three-day meet format used at major meets including the NCAA Championships.

Marinheiro, 16, is seeded 28th in the 500-yard freestyle in 4:51.13 among a field of 101 swimmers and 28th in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 17:04.87 (off long course time).

Pine Crest, AquaKids Sharks and St. Andrew’s Swimming are among Florida Gold Coast teams competing.

Other top FGC swimmers competing are Kent Haeffner, Jordy Groters and Marta Ciesla of Pine Crest, Clara Smiddy of AK Sharks and Rachael Bradford-Feldman of St. Andrew’s Swimming.
