South Florida Aquatic Club had two of its top age group swimmers invited to the 2014 Southern Zone Select Camp.

Kathleen Golding, 13, and Julien Pinon, 15, two rising young stars in the sport, have been invited to attend the May 22-25 camp at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Golding and Pinon were among 28 male and 28 female athletes selected in each of the four zones (Eastern, Southern, Central and Western).

The selections were based on the 2013 long course meters IMX point scores.

The Zone Select camps are viewed as an integral step for athletes to move from the local and zone level to the national scene.

The camps identify emerging young athletes in the sport.

The swimmers will get the opportunity to meet other top swimmers from their zone and train with national caliber coaches and have classroom sessions in nutrition and other topics. It offers a unique motivational and educational experience.

There will be five long course workouts for swimmers.
