SOFLO Competes At All Florida Senior Circuit Saturday At Blue Wave Classic Meet

South Florida Aquatic Club will compete Saturday in the All Florida Senior Circuit Meet at the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center.

The senior meet will be featured during the three-day Blue Wave Classic hosted by Blue Wave Swimming that begins on Friday.

SOFLO’s 24-swimmer contingent is the only Florida Gold Coast team competing.

SOFLO has several top-seeded swimmers.

SOFLO’s Xavier Brown, 19, is seeded first in the 50-meter freestyle in 23.04. Julien Pinon, 15, is seeded second in 24.34.

Maria Lopez, 18, is seeded first in the 200-meter butterfly in 2:20.00 and 100-meter butterfly in 1:03.90.

Jessica Rodriguez, 15, is top-seed in the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:37.84.

Juan Lucas, 15, is seeded first in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:12.27.

Olivia Katcher, 18, is seeded first in the 100-meter freestyle in 58.80 and third in the 200-meter individual medley in 2:25.19.

CJ Kopecki is seeded first in the 800-meter freestyle in 8:49.23 followed by teammates Alex Monti, 16, in 9:19.47 and Ricardo Roche, 14, in 9:32.19.

Other SOFLO swimmers entered are: Ryan Capote, 16; Jordan Colon, 16; Alexandra Crespo, 13; Esteban Diaz-Velasco, 15; Kelley Heron, 14; Ervin Marin, 14; Matthew Menocal, 15; Alfredo Mesa, 15; Stephanie Mlujeak, 15; Andrea Pereira, 13; Kevin Porto, 14; Jennifer Rodriguez, 13; Cristian Rossi, 15; Jonathan Strod, 15; and Carly Swanson, 16.

All events are timed finals and open.

Saturday’s opening session at 9 a.m. features six long course events: 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke and 400 freestyle.

Saturday’s afternoon session at 4 p.m. has seven long course events: 800 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 400 individual medley.

Swimmers from the Florida Gold Coast, Florida Swimming and Southeastern Swimming will compete.
