August 2, 2014— Jordan Colon of South Florida Aquatic Club turned in another best time on the final day of competition at the USA Swimming Southern Zone Senior Long Course Championships Saturday at Florida Gulf Coast Aquatic Center in Fort Myers.

Colon, 17, swam 2:18.72 in morning prelims of the 200-meter individual medley, shaving 2.62 seconds off his previous best.

Kendall Dawson of Fast Lane Aquatics was the only champion from Florida on the final night.

Dawson, 17, won the 200-meter individual medley in a best time 2:23.70, shaving nearly 3 seconds off her previous best of 2:26.55.

It was the Montverde Academy junior’s first victory of the five-day meet. She also took second in the 200-meter freestyle (2:04.56), second in the 400-meter freestyle (4:25.10), third in the 100-meter freestyle (58.75), ninth in the 100 backstroke and 15th in the 50 freestyle.

SwimMAC won the combined team title with 916 points and men’s team title with 468. The Woodlands Swim Team was runner-up with 741 and won the women’s team title with 567.
