October 13, 2016—South Florida Aquatic Club swimmers will compete Friday at the 8&Under Sizzler at Sunrise Civic Center.

Ten SOFLO swimmers–seven girls and three boys–will get a chance to show off what they have learned in swim practice at Academic Village Pool.

The girls competing are Anjana Andapally, 8; Clara Marie Bland, 7; Fiorella Di Salvo, 8; Pilar Duranti, 8; Ella Michael, 7; Giada Porven, 8; and Sarah Vasquez, 8.

The boys are: Connor Jimenez, 7; Mason Jimenez, 8; and Matthew Jimenez, 8.

SOFLO girls’ 100-yard freestyle relay is seeded first with Porven, Andapally, Duranti and DiSalvo. DiSalvo is seeded first in the 25-yard breaststroke and 25-yard freestyle.

Other teams expected to participate are Coral Springs Swim Club, Heritage Aquatics, host Sunrise, Plantation Swim Team, Pompano Beach, Swim Fort Lauderdale, Tamarac Swimming, YMCA and Westminster Academy.

The events include 6-and-under and 7-8 25-yard butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle and 8-and-under 100-yard freestyle relay.

The meet, originally scheduled for Oct. 7, was rescheduled for Friday because of Hurricane Matthew.

When: Friday, warm-up 5 p.m., meet starts 5:30 p.m.
