October 14, 2016—South Florida Aquatic Club will compete this weekend in the Gulliver Fall Invitational at Gulliver Prep.
The meet features swimmers ages 8 to 20, including some of Florida Gold Coast’s top swimmers including Julio Horrego and Ana Kondratovitch of Hialeah, Iliza Aguiar of Gulliver Swim Club, Irina Luetzelschwab of Miami Swimming, Jocelyn Ruiz of Blue Marlins and Gabrianna Banks of Heritage Aquatics.
Valerie Vank, 11, leads SOFLO girls’ contingent. Vank is seeded second in the 12-and-under 50-yard breaststroke in 37.50, second in the 12-and-under 100-yard breaststroke in 1:19.04, second in the 12-and-under 100-yard butterfly in 1:14.58, third in the 12-and-under 200-yard freestyle in 2:21.68, third in the 12-and-under 100-yard freestyle in 1:03.86, third in the 12-and-under 100-yard individual medley in 1:11.80 and fourth in the 12-and-under 50-yard butterfly in 33.22.
SOFLO teammate Natasha Testa, 17, is seeded third in the girls 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.07.
SOFLO’s boys are led by Matthew Kim, 11, seeded second in the 12-and-under 100-yard breaststroke in 1:25.41. Marcos Vazquez, 13, is seeded third in the boys’ 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.17.
SOFLO has 50 swimmers competing, 31 girls and 19 boys. All events are timed finals.
Among Florida Gold Coast teams expected to compete are Miami Swimming, Sunrise, North Miami Swim Team, City of Miami Swim Team, Heritage Aquatics, Blue Marlins, Hialeah, Hurricane Swimming, St. Andrew’s Swimming and host Gulliver.
