June 21, 2017—South Florida Aquatic Club will get the opportunity to race against several new teams at the FLA International Cup that begins Thursday at Plantation Aquatic Complex.

SOFLO is among 33 teams competing including several from out-of-state.

Among the non-Florida teams are Angeles Del Centro Espano, Apex Aquatics at Bosse, Delfines Del Naco, Elmbrook Swim Club, Gander Lakes Swim Club, Marlins de Arroyo Hondo, Mount Pearl Marlins and St. John’s Legends Swim Club.

Top Florida teams entered are Gator Swim Club, Blue Marlins, Heritage Aquatic Team, Pompano Beach Piranhas, SwimFast and Westminster Academy.

SOFLO has 71 swimmers entered with 39 boys and 32 girls, competing in 448 individual events.

The timed final format will feature 13-and-over and 12-and-under age groups.

On Thursday, the 800 and 1500 freestyle events begin at 4 p.m.

On Friday, the 400 freestyle, 400 individual medley and mixed relays will be held, also starting at 4 p.m.

The remaining sessions on Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
