SUNRISE, April 26, 2018—Nearly 80 South Florida Aquatic Club swimmers will compete in the IMR/IMX Challenge to see how they stack up against the rest of the nation.

The up-and-coming and talented swimmers will compete in the three-day meet at Sunrise Civic Center Pool beginning on Friday.

The USA Swimming-sanctioned meets are fun, motivational meets to help young swimmers reach the next level in their swimming careers.

The IMR (Ready) Challenge lets swimmers see how they compare to other swimmers around the nation in their age group. Swimmers must compete in all the events required for their age group to establish a score.

Once a swimmer competes in each IM Ready event at least once in an official meet, swimmers and parents can check out their rankings on USA Swimming’s website.

The next level is the IMX (Xtreme) Challenge. The IMX Challenge is the next step-up from the IMR competition. It includes a series of five or six events. Once swimmers complete the IMX program they can see where their score ranks nationally, their local LSC and their own club. All sessions are timed finals.

Among the 78 swimmers entered are Alana and Sarah Acevedo, Kaitlyn Barrios, Samuel Bullen, Javier Colmenares, Juan Colmenares, Kayla Cunningham, Alex Golding, Sally Golding, John Paul Handal, Zackary Harris, Jena Legaspi, Alejandro Mateus, Giada Porven, Alessandro Pereira and Christian Tijero.
