FORT LAUDERDALE, October 24, 2018—Pembroke Pines Charter knocked off defending champion Fort Lauderdale to win the District 11-3A Swimming and Diving Championship Wednesday at Fort Lauderdale High.

The Jaguars, coached by SOFLO age group coach Rose Lockie, swept all three girl relays and relied on depth and young talent to pile up the points while freshmen Jena Legaspi and Victoria Torres won their first individual district titles and were members of winning relays.

Pembroke Pines Charter, which defeated the Flying L’s during the regular season, looked even more impressive winning the girls team title with 523 points. Fort Lauderdale was second with 358.
