SOFLO Heads To Gulliver Winter Invite, Masters Compete In Fort Lauderdale Masters Challenge This Weekend

February 14, 2019—South Florida Aquatic Club heads to Miami for the Gulliver Winter Invite this weekend.

The short course yards meet, that begins Friday with distance, is timed finals.

Host Gulliver Swim Club and South Florida Aquatic Club have the largest contingents in the Florida Gold Coast meet.

Most of the field are Dade County teams including Metro Aquatics, Hialeah, Blue Marlins, Hurricanes Swimming, Florida Keys and Miami Swimming. Among other teams are Heritage Aquatics and Swim Fort Lauderdale. Host Gulliver and Metro Aquatics have the most top seeds.

SOFLO has 55 swimmers (29 boys and 26 girls)competing in 298 individual events. Mariann Catalasan, 12, is among SOFLO highest seed swimmers.


South Florida Aquatic Club will have four swimmers competing in the three-day meet at Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex.

The swimmers are Paula Berti, 49, Emmanuel Butmankiewicz, 33, Arnold Foote, 52, and Rafael Naranjo, 37.

SOFLO will be among a field of 30 masters teams. The meet begins Friday at 6 p.m. On Saturday it starts 11 a.m. On Sunday the 1,650 freestyle begins 9 a.m. followed by the remaining events at 11 a.m.

When: Friday-Sunday.

Schedule: Friday, Session 1, 5 p.m.; Saturday, Session II, 9 a.m.; Session III, 2 p.m.; Sunday, Session IV, 10 a.m., Session V, 3 p.m.

Where: Gulliver Swim Club, 6575 North Kendall Drive, Miami.
