GAINESVILLE, August 19, 2021—Six home meets highlight the 2021-22 University of Florida men’s and women’s swimming and diving schedule.
Gators head men’s and women’s swimming coach Anthony Nesty is excited about the upcoming season. He is coming off the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where he was Team USA assistant coach and watched his UF swimmers Bobby Finke and Kieran Smith win two gold medals and one bronze.
“The experience for me was a good one because now I’m on the other side,” Nesty said. “Obviously, I was a swimmer at the Olympics. I’ve been to several Olympics as a coach, but being there with your own athletes that you’ve coached throughout college, going to the Olympics and swimming well and getting to represent the United States is a great achievement. I’m very blessed.”
The Gators open the season Oct. 2 in Boca Raton when they swim Florida Atlantic University at 10 a.m.
The Gators’ open their home meet schedule on Oct. 29 against the Georgia Bulldogs.
On Nov. 5, the Gators will swim Florida State in Tallahassee then head to Atlanta on Nov. 18-20 for the Georgia Tech Invitational.

In February, there are two last chance meets with the first at the Auburn Last Chance Invitational on Feb. 4-6, while the second is back at home during the end of February (date and time are TBA).
Both the men’s and women’s teams will head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the SEC Championships on Feb. 15-19.
The divers will start off the month of March competing at the NCAA Diving Zones on March 6-9 in Atlanta, Ga. The women will head to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on March 16-19. The men follow on March 23-26, both held at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
South Florida Aquatic Club will be well-represented on the Gators’ roster. Miguel Cancel, a Gulliver Prep alum, will begin his senior season. Kathleen Golding, a Cooper City alum, will start her junior season and younger sister Molly Golding, also a Cooper City alum, will begin her collegiate career as a freshman.
Other South Florida swimmers on the roster are:
