SOFLO Swimmers Wind Up Successful PST-SOFLO Dual Meet In Session Three; Jaden Amores Triple Winner

PLANTATION, May 14, 2023–South Florida Aquatic Club continued to dominate the third and final session of the Plantation Swim Team-South Florida Aquatic Club dual meet Saturday at Plantation Aquatic Complex.

Jaden Amores, 16, led SOFLO with three wins in the 100-meter backstroke in a best time 1:03.08 with a time drop of 0.34; 200-meter individual medley in 2:21.36 and 200-meter butterfly in 2:17.28. He was also second in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:21.73. He also swam two relays that finished third and fourth.

With talent and depth, SOFLO swimmers turned in some good long course racing on Friday and Saturday.

SOFLO women swept the 200-meter medley and 200-meter freestyle relays.

Other SOFLO winners were:
Austin Nelson, 17, 200-meter backstroke, 2:19.34.

Luciano Gonzalez, 29, 100-meter freestyle, 53.24, time drop 0.60.

Plantation Swim Team winners on the final day were Gabriel Tortola in the 200 freestyle, Adriano Corrieri in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and Sebastian Lobaton in the 100 butterfly.

Plantation also swept the men’s 200-medley and 200 freestyle relays.

SOFLO had 121 swimmers (61 boys and 60 girls) compete in 668 individual events and four relay events.

The last time the two teams met was February 4th. The teams met for the fourth time in dual meets.

SOFLO Swimmers Shine During Session Two Of PST-SOFLO Dual Meet

PLANTATION, May 13, 2023–South Florida Aquatic Club swimmers got in some good long course racing during the second session of the Plantation Swim Team-South Florida Aquatic Club dual meet Friday at Plantation Aquatic Complex.

SOFLO dominated the 50s and 400s events with its depth and talent.

Wisthon Rendon won the 50-meter butterfly in 27.65.

Enrique Rodriguez won the 400-meter individual medley in 5:07.35.

Marvan Ekanayake finished second in the 50-meter backstroke in a best time 32.64 with a 4.21 time drop.

Mason Jimenez dropped 19.32 seconds in the 400-meter freestyle to finish fifth in 4:35.45. Jimenez also dropped 5.34 seconds in the 50-meter breaststroke for another fifth place in 35.65.

Karl-Wilson Aimable of Plantation Swim Team was a double winner in the 50-meter backstroke in 29.74 and 50-meter freestyle in 25.09.

Acosta, Bouti Double Winners; SOFLO Dominates Session One In PST-SOFLO Dual Meet Sizzler

PLANTATION, May 12, 2023–South Florida Aquatic Club’s younger swimmers got off to a great start in the opening session of the Plantation Swim Team-South Florida Aquatic Club dual meet Friday at Plantation Aquatic Complex.

SOFLO’s Ivy Acosta and Dalyah Bouti were double winners in the mixed events.

Acosta, 7, won the 25-yard butterfly in 21.20 and 25-yard breaststroke in a best time 26.49, dropping 0.41. She was also second in the 25-yard freestyle in a best time 17.47, dropping 1.24 and fifth in the 25-yard backstroke in 24.54.

Bouti, 9, won the 25-yard backstroke in 21.01 and 25-yard freestyle in 16.81.

Molly Barber, 8, took second, third and fourth in the butterfly, freestyle and backstroke events.

The meet continues with Session Two later in the day. The meet wraps up Saturday at 9 a.m. with the remaining individual and relay events.

SOFLO Takes On Plantation Swim Team In Two-Day Dual Meet

PLANTATION, May 11, 2023–For the fourth time in the teams’ history, Plantation Swim Team will host South Florida Aquatic Club in a dual meet at Plantation Aquatic Complex Friday and Saturday.

After some solid training at Academic Village Pool, SOFLO swimmers will get a chance to get in some good racing and coaches will get the opportunity to gauge their training over two days in what’s become a nice rivalry between the two Florida Gold Coast teams.

Action begins Friday at 4 p.m. with four mixed 25-yard events in Session 1. About one hour later, Session 2 begins with 50s and 400s. The meet wraps up Saturday at 9 a.m. with the remaining individual and relay events.

SOFLO has entered 121 swimmers (61 boys and 60 girls) in 668 individual events and four relay events.

Among the talented SOFLO contingent are Christie Ann Lumsden, Jaden, Jenesys and Jianna Amores, Jemma Baldwin, Amelie Bicerne, Isabella Grace and Lincoln Malachi Callaway Coy, Gabriella DeLuna, Elena, Elise and Olivia Dinehart, Natalie Gembicki, Ryan Harries, Carley Kaplan, Didia and Niccolo Miccolis, Austin Nelson, Sofia Osorio, Toma Petkov, Giorgio Rusconi, Juan Vallmitjana and Sarah Vasquez.

SOFLO’s Connor Jimenez Comes Up Big At Middle School Swimming Championships

BOCA RATON, May 4, 2023—Connor Jimenez of American Heritage Plantation dominated the Middle School Swimming Championships Wednesday at Boca Raton High School Aquatic Complex.

The South Florida Aquatic Club swimmer won four events, two individual and two relays and finished with 40 points.

Jimenez won the 100-yard freestyle in a best time 52.45, dropping 0.65 seconds from his previous best of 53.10 and won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.12.

Jimenez was a member of the boys’ winning 200-yard medley relay that won in 1:54.40 with teammates Rafael Passaro, Stepan Vandysh and Devin Polk. Jimenez swam third leg.

He was also a member of the boys’ winning 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.03 with the same three teammates. Jimenez swam lead-off leg.

American Heritage Plantation Middle School won the boys’ team title with 407 points. American Heritage Delray Beach was a distant second with 199.

St. Andrew’s Aquatics won the girls’ team title with 378 ahead of Westminster Academy with 272 and American Heritage Plantation with 249 points.
