July 9, 2015—Host South Florida Aquatic Club, AquaKids Sharks and Blue Marlins of Hialeah Gardens head the field for the Florida Gold Coast Area 3 Long Course Developmental Championships.

The three-day meet begins Friday at 5:30 p.m. with the timed distance events.

Host SOFLO has entered 88 swimmers including 15 relay teams and has the most top-seeds.

Swimmers have one last chance to make time standards for the July 17-19 FGC Senior Championships at Coral Springs and July 24-26 FGC Junior Olympics at Plantation. Others who already have their cuts will go after best times.

Twenty-two teams are competing in the meet including AquaKids Sharks, Blue Marlins of Hialeah Gardens, Hurricane Swimming, Metro Aquatics and host SOFLO.

SOFLO and Comets Swim Team Booster Club are taking up the slack hosting the meet for another FGC team that was unable to fulfill its host and venue responsibilities.

Among SOFLO’s top seeds are Eiza Gantus, 13, Alana Acevedo, 13, Zariya Harris, 15, Tyler Gibson, 16, Sara Quintero, 11, Samuel Quintero, 14, and Alex Golding, 11.

Two other Area Championships are scheduled for this weekend. Boca Raton is hosting the Area 1 meet and Sunrise is hosting the Area 2 meet.
